Annual Amputee Golf Tournament

Omaha is only one of several cities, and/or states with activities associations sponsoring annual golf tournaments. The tournament is held every August, it is a 3 day event full of fun, camaraderie, prizes and of course, great golf!

Events like this have attracted participants from numerous states and Canada with abilities ranging from scratch to the high average golfer. Division by age, type of amputation and flighting offer all a chance to compete equally; but more importantly, offers the opportunity for camaraderie, fun and lasting friendships.

The tournament weekend starts with a Friday scramble which pairs non-amputees with amputees in a four person best shot format. This event, which is our primary fundraiser for the association, promotes awareness, achievement and socialization.

A Friday evening social event officially kicks off the amputee events and offers the opportunity to renew old friendships and develop new ones. Saturday begins the two days of tournament golf for the amputees. The annual association meeting and banquet for participants and families is held on Saturday.

Awards for an overall champion, division winners, and flight winners are presented following the final 18 holes on Sunday.

    9 Hole Tournament

    This division is set up for any golfer who feels they cannot play all 18 holes in a single day. These golfers will play only nine holes each day and complete against only others who play 9 holes per day. There must be at least 3 players in this flight to be eligible for any awards.

    Guest Flight for Saturday, Sunday or both days

    Any spouse or guest of an amputee may play in this outing if they so desire. This Guest Flight will follow the last group of amputee players. Guest Flight participants will be golfing for pleasure and will not be in any type of competition associated with the tournament and no prizes will be awarded. Cost will be $50.00 per person per day. Please specify which date, Saturday, Sunday or both days you wish to play. If you wish to play with another guest, please identify your choice on the amputee tournament entry form, otherwise the association will make up the foursomes
